Your privacy

This notice covers the Koh Samui weather website and Beyond the forecast, the free weekly note from Adam and Emma.

Who looks after your information

Adam Bevington is responsible for the personal information used for this website and newsletter. For privacy questions or requests, email adam@adambevington.com.

When you subscribe

We ask for your email address to send a confirmation email, a welcome note and our weekly newsletter. Subscribing is optional and does not affect your access to the weather site. We use your consent to send these notes. You must confirm your email address before joining the list.

MailerLite manages the list and sends emails on our behalf. It can record signup and confirmation times, the form used, IP address and technical information to manage subscriptions, prevent abuse and record your choice. Delivery, bounce, unsubscribe and link interaction information may also be recorded. Opens tracking is disabled for our welcome email.

Who receives information

Adam and Emma can manage the newsletter list. We use MailerLite to store and process subscription information. We do not sell your address or give it to unrelated advertisers. MailerLite and its service providers may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area, using the safeguards described in its data processing agreement and privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you subscribe. If you unsubscribe, we stop newsletter emails and may retain a limited record of your address and subscription history to respect your opt-out and demonstrate permission. We retain only what is needed for those purposes and review it when managing the list. This limited record is held for our legitimate interest in preventing unwanted emails and handling subscription requests.

Your choices and rights

Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or email us to withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it. You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, restrict its use, object where we rely on legitimate interests, or request a portable copy where applicable. Contact the address above. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.

Using the weather site

Cloudflare hosts the website. Your browser contacts Open-Meteo for weather, RainViewer for radar, OpenStreetMap for map tiles and unpkg for map software. These providers receive your IP address and technical request information to deliver their services. We use these services to operate and secure the site, on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working weather website.

The weather site does not ask for your device location and does not add advertising or analytics scripts. Weather uses fixed Koh Samui coordinates. The signup button opens MailerLite's hosted form, which has its own service cookies and privacy information. External services have their own retention practices: Cloudflare, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, OpenStreetMap and unpkg.
